Series

36 Days of Type
This series was my contribution to the typography challenge of the same name, created by Barcelona studio Treintayseis. Rooted in pixel art, the character forms are deconstructed into an assembly of puzzle pieces. Each pixel is aware of his neighbors and the program will choose what types of pieces will appear as part of this puzzle.

Amputecture
Amputecture started as a tiny tiny sketch and explores the deconstruction of a double grid pattern, alternating between connecting circles and connecting star shapes. Somewhere between a circuit board and a decaying elvish architecture.

Ascension
Ascension is an alternative construction to the Playground series. One of the outputs was exhibited in 2024 as part of the Long Distance Drawing initiative at La Maison de l’Architecture in Amiens, France.

Biomes
This series started as a submission for a weekly challenge where “biomes” was the theme. It’s a series I sometimes comeback to, like a miniature zen garden. Every iteration is a refinement of the landscape, changing the types of biomes, the animals that populate it.

Castle
An old series, my first attempt at a recursive structure that playfully builds upwards.

Dots
Wanting to free from the line constraint, I figured out how to make plain circles from very tight spirals. This bright and colorful series is the first application of this unlocked achievement.

Ferns
Exploring flow fields and randomly activating a displacement of every other step. Or the recipe to creating an abstract representation of fern-like flora.

Harps
One of my first works, research to get as much texture as possible with only lines, like the strings of an instrument. All sections follow the same general motion but each of them has the agency of doing something unexpected.

Hexes
I wanted to mess with a different grid system, steer away from orthogonal grids, here involving hexagonal shapes. Though quite elementary forms at first, different parameters will influence their density, their breadth, and distort them in many ways. Sometimes the transitions are soft, timid, and sometimes they are much more violent, visceral even.

Love
A spontaneous typography experiment.

Ophidian
Ophidian is an ongoing series that started as an exploration of path randomization, using the shape of serpents as a territory for a visual exploration of various patterns. Random parameters make the general shape, curves, location and detail of the scales always different from one output to another.

Pelotes
Yes, it’s a cat hidden in pile of yarn balls. The perfect gift for friends of felines. I make new batches of cards regularly, every time with a different color palette.

Playground
One of my first series, based on a very simple recursion code. Inspired by the neon and vivid colors from fairs and Tokyo signs, Playground uses a wider spectrum of colors to convey a lot of energy, drawing from a wide bank of different shapes. Every color is a different layer to plot, therefore these pieces demand to change the plotter’s pen 6 times.

Reflection
Reflection plays with a lot of different colored shapes and textures and their juxtaposition. Interrupting a central shape, the first outputs reminded me of the chaotic sparks of light on the water surface lit by the sun, hence the name of the series.

Threads
A sister series from Hexes. This is no tiling system like Truchet. Every line is drawn progressively, from start to finish (or loop), depending on where it could keep going.
